Bluehost Rock Reviewer: Daniel 02-06-2006 I looked around for hosting and domain name registration for my rock band about 4 months ago. All we really wanted was a ".com" to make us seem more professional. Well, after finding a hosting company that seemed ok, I went ahead a placed my order. I got a message saying that they were going to call me in about 15 minutes to verify my acount. Well, I got no call. So I called them and was put on hold long enough that I was able to find multiple reviews online about how horrible the company I was trying to sign up with is. Needless to say, I just hung up and looked for another option.
Then I ran across Bluehost. About 15 minutes after I typed "www.bluehost.com" into the location bar of my browser for the first time, my website was up and running. And not only did we have our ".com" address, but I was also suprised at the tools and options we were given (cpanel, fantastico, etc.) And I have yet to experience any down time.
Now, I've never had any other hosting provider with witch to compair, but since bluehost is so awesome and only $95/year, I don't think I'll be trying any others anytime soon.
See www.sanuband.com if you wanna see what a bluehost site runs like (and also if you wanna check out my band ;P. I know... shameless self promo)
Cool site :)

That is who I use, haven't had a problem yet. Reviewer: AtomicNuke 02-06-2006 That is who I use, haven't had a problem yet. You get alot for a cheap price and good service. Never had any downtime to my site and they answer my questions and don't make you feel like an idiot. My only problem with them is, if you develop a question over the weekend, you won't get an answer until Monday, since they aren't there on the weekends. But that is my only complaint. I also like that if you register a domain through them, shich is free with the package, you can opt to have bluehost privacy. So if someone uses whois, it'll shoe bluehosts address and contact information, instead of yours, but it is still your domain to use and transfer anytime you want.

I have used BlueHost as part of a review scheme we had going last year. Reviewer: InterSQ 02-07-2006 I have used BlueHost as part of a review scheme we had going last year.
I wasn't too impressed with their prices but hell, I placed an order. I was shocked when I found my domain had been fully registered and propagated within 2 minutes. I didn't even know this was possible :O
Overall its very good and gets a 9 / 10 rating from me.

All in all I have been with them for a month (not long), and I am very happy. Reviewer: Nsumner 02-07-2006 " A while ago I went searching for a new host (I had been with Lunar pages). I needed to host 3 different domains so I was looking for a host that allowed at least 3 domains in the basic cost.
I finally found bluehost.com, the price seemed good etc etc. So I decided to sign up with them.
Firstly: A minor complaint but a really stupid system on their part. You can't create a add-on domain until you configure the nameservers for that domain to point to bluehost. This means that if you are transferrring a domain from an old host you can not have everything set up before you actually change the NS. I suspect you could call and bypass this however.
I have found the website to be reliable, and e-mail to be reliable. More reliable then lunarpages (where on a weekly basis I would have to reactive my yahoogroups e-mail address because it would bounce).
The only "problem" I had was interesting. They require every account to be verified. Fine I had called in and verified the account. A couple days later I found I couldn't get my e-mail and trying to log into the account reported that it didn't exist. I called up and it turned out that they saw I signed up from Israe, and used a Canadian address. The fraud department deleted the account (without really paying attention to the fact it has already been verified). They were appologetic and fixed the problem, as well they restored backups so that I didn't loose data (my E-mail is all IMAP and I didn't have a backup (I have learnt my lesson)). The truth is I understand and commend the fraud department for being so diligent, and I don't blame them for flagging the account. My only complaint is they could have and should have gotten in touch with me.
All in all I have been with them for a month (not long), and I am very happy. The price (especially since I am hosting 3 domains) is excellent, and the support is first class. Reliability is a solid 9.5/10. "

Two days ago (March 9) I noticed that our forum stopped working. Reviewer: Tiufang 02-07-2006 " Two days ago (March 9) I noticed that our forum stopped working. Upon investigating, I saw some error messages related with the database.
I took at a look at using cpanel, everything seemed to be fine. Then as a precaution, I DID take a backup of the forum's database. Then I sent an email to support@bluehost.com, describing the situtation.
I got no replies, and I remembered: They don't reply unless you open a ticket. So I copied-n-pasted my email into their website. No replies again, except the automatic message: "We have received your support email. Great technical support is what sets us apart from our competitors. We will respond as quickly as we can to resolve your issue." Ironic it is.
Meanwhile I continued investigating, and I noticed that when I login using ssh, and use mysql client, the data seems to be corrupt, half of the database is not there. I opened another ticket explaining the situation: " - Tiufang

I have a few websites with bluehost and so far they've been pretty good. Reviewer: Soulstice99 02-07-2006 " I have a few websites with bluehost and so far they've been pretty good. There were two downtimes in the first 8 months and those lasted two hours. I documented one of those outages on this site.
If that is satisfactory to you, then you should definitely consider them. Oh, and I dont work for bluehost. My sites hosted with them are LawMatters and FibroTalk Support Community and GiantMinds.
I subscribe to siteuptime and according to that they are 99.6%, though I dont entirely trust siteuptime.com. Anyway, if bluehost's service level changes significantly, I will post again. I hope this helps. Good luck! " - Soulstice99Thanks To: bluehostreviews.com

I have been a customer with Bluehost for some four months now. Reviewer: Yossi 02-15-2006 I have been a customer with Bluehost for some four months now. Generally, I am very satisfied with the hosting service. Downtime has not been bad at all, server response time is quite adequate and customer service has promptly ansewered my many initial questions.
It is possible that the larger webhosts have even faster server responses and even less downtime, but the differences aren't big and unless one has a very very large business site where every second counts, Bluehost is very adequate. I recommend it to others, both verbally and through my website, since I feel good about them. Recently they upped disk space to 2 GB and in general they give an enormous amount of services and bonuses. For the same price the large hosts offer less.

Bluehost is a great service when it works, however it doesn't seem to have worked for me so far! Reviewer: Paul 02-15-2006 Bluehost is a great service when it works, however it doesn't seem to have worked for me so far! ... Shortly afer I signed up with them (a few weeks ago) the server which was holding my account crashed, resulting in a fragmentation problem and a long period of downtime and broken stats. The stats problem still haven't been fixed over a week after bringing it to their attention, apparently they have "other issues that have taken precidence" (sic). If a company has a good customer service, then surely ALL customer problems should take precedence? ... Then I learn that people cannot send any messages with attachments to my bluehost account without having them returned by the bluehost mailserver, yet funnily enough, when someone attempts to send me a virus there, it gets through! ... Overall, very poor so far, hope it improves!
In fairness to them, they did solve my problems fairly swiftly initially, however that was before they received my payment!
