If you ever have a problem good luck. Signing up maybe quick, easy and inexpensive, but if you ever want to close your account it is made very difficult and it takes for ever and ever.

Their processes are slow and inept.

Their processes are slow and inept. Their support is even worse.

    Two sites through them.
Reviewer: David Keyes       04-07-2006
Two sites through them. The shared server plan works fine as long as your features are minimal (don't even try to run a message board), but the Virtual Private server is a joke. NO technical support, only run-arounds.

    WOW!

If there is a fault to IPOWER's Pro Plan, it is that there are too many features provided that you may not required for your website. But otherwise, if you are looking for a reliable web hosting provider with good customer support and superb hosting features, you can't go wrong with IPOWER that has over 400,000 customers. Offering up to 10,000 MB disk space, 250 GB bandwidth plus hosting 6 domains on single account make web hosting with IPOWER a real steal.

    Dishonest & Incompetent
Reviewer: Anonymous       08-15-2006
I registered my second domain name, and could not post anything to the site because it was erroneously registered as the wrong type of site on their servers. This took a week to iron out.

When renew time came, wanted to change because of previous problems, asked date to cancel or renew by, called that day, the site had been cancelled the day before, had to pay $50 just to get my files back.

Many times I call and am told I did not pay for a years service even though my site has been running for 5 months. About half the time accurate billing information about my account exists, the other half I have to prove I paid before the newest problem can even be solved.

You call once, one person tells you one thing, you call again, its another, it goes on forever. It would be bad enough if it were mere incompetence (the optimistic scenario), but on several occasions supervisors have flat out lied to me.

I could tell you a dozen more horror stories. I rarely write axe-grinding reviews, but this company has been amazing, even for an industry known for shady tactics.

Avoid at all costs. You may get lucky and not have problems, or you may end up like me, dump your service half-way through your contract, cut your losses, and pay twice as much for more reliable service. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

I’ve been hosting with Ipowerweb for years now. I have only good service. I read all these articles that they are such a bad host and this is NOT true. I have over 300 domain names and shared hosting account with Ipowerweb also two awesome fast dedicated servers. They just upgraded their servers too.

I strongly recommend Ipowerweb for web design, web hosting, domain names, search engine optimization, eCommerce. They are good for everything they do. I will never change hosting companies and I will continue to use Ipowerweb and never change. I’ve had the pleasure working with Sales manager James Murphy and Search Engine Optimization specialist Steve Di Fabio on great service and massive website visits. Ipowerweb ranked my website in Google under the keywords I wanted and with in two weeks I was receiving phone calls. I have the pleasure of my own dedicated rep, Steve Di Fabio, that takes care of all my needs with no hold time at all and is extremely fast at what he does and gives the best customer service.     Worst hosting ever

I have had the worst experience, they screwed up my DNS for no reason and my site has been down now for 5 days. They continue to tell me to wait 12 hours for it to be back up. Took 5 emails before I was told, sorry, and still not back up. I will be speaking with an attorney as they caused me to loose

I was on the phone for an hour waiting for Ipower to pick it up. They never picked up the phone. Finally i went to their IM. That worked. Don\\\'t know if the solution will be forth coming or correct.
I have two siteswith ipower. For the most part the hosting part works well and I run a business on one.

But the wait for technical service is terrible.

As far as i am concerned I think that the only way another host would be an improvement is if it had improved tech support. But then again, i don\\\'t need that much tech support. But when I need it I wish to hell they\\\'d be there for me. Is that too much to ask of a company that brags about hosting 230,000 parties?

    The worst webhost ever
Reviewer: Anonymous       04-15-2008
IPower is by far the worst webhost I have ever experienced.

Here are the recent uptime stats for my website, as measured by basicstate.com:

2008-03-24 85.71%
2008-03-23 81.32%
2008-03-22 86.02%
2008-03-21 82.42%
2008-03-20 85.71%
2008-03-19 72.53%
2008-03-18 74.19%
2008-03-17 65.93%
2008-03-16 79.12%
2008-03-15 86.81%
2008-03-14 86.81%

As soon as I moved to a different webhost the uptime for my website has been 100% (literally) ever since.

And despite these appalling figures I quote above, which have badly damaged my business, when I asked for a refund IPower said that they cannot give me a refund.

When I filed a complaint with BBB (Better Business Bureau) then IPower emailed me to tell me that I would now get a refund.
