Sucks! Reviewer: Anonymous 12-31-2005 After reading several reviews we switched to IXWebhosting. Since then, we have had nothing but problems with the server being down and our emails not working properly. When you try to get an answer, they send you in circles. Live chat says submit a ticket, when you submit a ticket they tell you to use Live Chat. We are in the process of looking for a new hosting company. I would not recommend IXWebhosting to anyone.

My head! Reviewer: Anonymous 12-31-2005 If your host rating went any lower than 1 I would have selected that rating. IX Webhosting have got to be the most pathetic hosting company I have encountered! Since mid Jan I have been hosting with them and they have destroyed my web business! Before I hosted with them I was getting over 8000 hits a day, now that`s down to under 2500! They can`t keep their MySQL server running for more than a few hours, hence my loss of potential business and traffic!

not again Reviewer: Anonymous 12-31-2005 They`re cheap, but you get what you pay for. The tech support isn`t nearly as good as it claims to be. If it`s a simple matter that can be handled in the on-line chat, great, but their response to trouble tickets takes entirely too long. I requested my site to be restored from back-up, for example, but it took so long for them to respond that there were no back-ups dating prior to my request date. Apparently they don`t keep back-ups around too long either - less than seven days - which is not only unprofessional and incompetent, but renders the back-ups useless since it takes them so long to respond to your requests.

Be honest Reviewer: Greg 02-10-2006 Thank you Web Hosting Stuff for presenting an Honest review of Ix Web Hosting. Had I reviewed your site rather than the other DISHonest web hosting review sites, I would have never gone with Ix webhosting.
In short, if you only have a couple small websites that don't do anything like e-commerce or email. then Ix may be Ok for you.
For those that need a stable server with excellent technically support with native English speakers, this is definitely Not the hosting service for you. They Tech support stinks!!! I've battled with a server-side problem for 3 weeks now. I get lame response after lame response that simply proves these technicians from India are pressured to close tickets as fast as possible. They never gave me a solution. They presented a work-around that is stupid and unprofessional.
I hope that this review prevents others from being lured into a good price plan hoping that they will get more than they pay for or will roll the dice and hope that no problems ever come to them. Didn't work for me.

Ix Web Hosting off to a bad start. Reviewer: Scott 02-10-2006 After reading some glowing reviews on this hosting service and some great price points for the plans offered I decided to move all my domains over to Ix Web Hosting. I did this 1 week ago at the time of this writing.
Their control panel is great but for me has been slow/sluggish. Then today, all my sights went down. I can't log in to my control panel, and customer service is providing No information or estimates on getting the server my domains are on back up. The server has been down for Hours now.
When I asked if their was Anyone I could talk to to get an Eta for my clients, I was given this response: "We don't have information right now , we will contact with admins later , when issue will be resolved". That's all they have said for hours now.
My Big problem with all this is not really the down time- it's the way customer service is handling it by keeping me in the dark and basically admitting they have no clue about their own servers, the issue at hand, or what is being done to fix it.
Not off to a good start! I hope this was just bad timing and a glitch on their part. Fingers crossed!

Who needs enemies when you have IXweb Reviewer: Shane 02-10-2006 Short of jumping off a cliff this organisation has a shocking approach or even definition of client service. Having read many reviews and testimonials I can only draw one conclusion that the glowing positive statements is actually IXwebhosting patting themselves on the back.
The reality:
No credit card no business. This organisation takes the time to quickly take your money though if you decide to change your details and cese payment by Cc and ask for other options prepare for grief. They can not take transfers, they can not take direct deposits, they are all round blinkered into the ridiculous. So when you try to get something done they will do nothing to help. Just refer you to their policy...Cc only.
Got a problem with support then dont call. I called and was on hold no less than 55 minutes on 28 occassions over a three week period. Now fine if you are in the Usa but I am not. I am in Australia ...so the total cost to wait to not speak to anyone accrued to $480 Aud!!
Got a problem with suport then dont online chat!! I have my suspicions about this service as it would seem the answers you get back are not answering your questions "9/10" times they will give a nil response and you will leave very frustrated. In conclusion of many "chats" i have realised that this is actually an application that is pretending to be human...it just has a lot of bugs in it!!
Need action? Dont bother asking for anything to be done as you will only ever be directed to info@ixwebhosting.com or billing@ixwebhosting.com. So if you need to escalate things you cant there is no process to handle complaints of an urgent manner at all.
Need a headache? This organisation logs all issues by tickets being created they then forward this to your email and ask you to view the progress of your issues by logging in on a given link. Guess what...if your account is suspended or not active you can not view or monitor any tickets. Rather because of no response by you IXwebhosting will then assume you are happy and close it with a moniker of being resolved!! The joke is on you the client as you try to log in and then get caught in an episode of twilight zone having a ticket created for a ticket!! All with no resolution.
All in all beware...IXwebhosting, Hosting Excellence, Boundgrid and a range of others are the same company Ecommerce Corporation. You will get the same rubbish from each of these.....
Forget their name, forget their marketing and forget that they are even there for consideration.
Best advise save yourself the frustration and headaches....

At first I tried to pay with my debit card, but I didn't know that I couldn't pay in Usd with it.
Ix phoned me the following day, and arranged alternative payment methods.
The setup was quickly, and their live help provided the correct answers swiftly when I had questions.
Sometime during March 2005 one of their hard drives crashed, and they restored back ups.
My websites make use of Php, Perl, MySQL and PostgreSQL, and load quickly.
During times I had questions, they honored their 1 hour response time.
I cannot recall any downtime, and I make use of a remote monitoring system which 'till today reports a 100% uptime.
I also visit my forums and blogs etc. everyday, and didn't experience downtime.
I do not make much use of email with them, so I cannot comment on the reliability of the email.
I started with the Economy plan, and as my sites have grown, upgraded to the Savers and then to the Value plan, and during each upgrade there was no problems.
At the busiest time, on of my sites got 5000+ hits per hour and it never slowed down. I must add they I make use of a cache system to minimize the strain on the MySQL server.
Ix is making use of the Hsphere control panel, which is easy to deal with and it is a breeze to change enable or disable options.
For someone looking for pre-installed scripts, Ix has only a few available like PhpBB, chat, form mail etc.
I found Ixwebhosting to be a reliable host, with excellent support and customer service.

All webhosting providers will have some problems. The internet isn't perfect. Tech support has been good to me even when I created the problem.

Our web site was down several times and sending/receiving emails were problematic. Requested a refund which they granted however they immediately suspended our account and wouldn't allow Ftp access to our web site files that we own unless we paid them.

far as services. Up front, you get a lot for your money, but don't count on
them for any mission critical operations. We have dealt with persistant email
slowdowns, overloaded servers, mis-configurations, and way more down
time than they advertise on three simple sites. Their frontline tech support is
quite unprofessional and/or very badly trained. Specific questions are
answered with meaningless replies, or promises to fix the problem which
often take days or weeks to fix. Most don't seem to understand their own
products. I truly wished their support lived up to their marketing as they
would be a powerhouse company. Instead, they are a great disappointment.

Then to top it off, the software that I was using on their server (Site Studio) crashed, and they didn't have a backup for my website. IT'S GONE!!! And all they could do was offer me an apology. It was after asking how they were going to compensate me for my loss of 5 months of work that they credited me three months of service. I am now looking into a local web host. It may be more expensive, but...
1. They're local, and I can drive there if I need to.
2. They've been around since at least 1998 (I had them as a dial up ISP until this past july, when I switched to cable)

Worse Hosting we have EVER USED!!!!! Reviewer: Roksana UK 12-07-2006 The worse hosting we have ever used!!! Their only explanation was that the server we have been placed on before has had a lot of activity. My advice, stay AWAY!

As others have said here their customer service is horrible. It is. They keep on saying the admins are looking at it. They even make promises that someone will look into it within 30min.
heck I even offered to pay more for a commitment on service. The customer service guy, supposedly a manager, said they do not offer that.

While I have minor problems with the first two, IX is PATHETIC. In less than 1month, IX has been down for nearly 12hours in total. Right now as I type, my ecommerce site is down, my newly launched news site is down and IX is unreachable. A complete WASTE of my money!

Declining customer service and technical standards Reviewer: Disappointed 07-05-2007 I left this company in disgust recently after being with them for 18 months. The first 12 months presented few problems. But over the last 6 months, judging from both by own experiences and various comments on PC and IT forums, it seems the company\\\'s server infrastructure is seriously creaking under the load of too many websites and too few resources to host them.
Firstly, they oversell, a problem now widespread in the industry. Ultra cheap rates with promises of ridiculously excessive bandwidth and storage allowances certainly wins over customers in the extremely competitive bottom-end of the hosting market. But this highly questionable sales model is based on the assumption that nearly all users will only consume a fraction of the data they pay for and generally not put any stress on bandwidth, CPU and memory resources.
But wait...there\\\'s a very big catch. By IX crowding each server machine with too many customer accounts all it takes to cause a problem is for a handful of those customers to start getting some serious web traffic on their sites (they are only using the generous bandwidth they are legally entitled to, mind you). Once that happens the rest of the sites hosted on that machine can be affected with any number of different technical glitches and problems. And that might include you.
Secondly, you may come to know what a brain seizure is really like after you\\\'ve experienced the comical and incredibly maddening world of IX Web Hosting Customer Support. You see with IX being the ultra cheapskates that they are, the live chat operators and email helpdesk staff are actually based in Eastern Europe and the Indian subcontinent. The staff\\\'s command of English is adequate at best, indecipherable at worst. Couple this language barrier with technical incompetence and flat out lying on occasions and you can only imagine what it\\\'s like for the poor schmuck who just wants his website and email to run good. I witnessed deceit, half-truths, and a constant contradicting of their own statements. Not to mention frequent blaming of the customer, such as blaming your ISP when its technically impossible that your ISP could in any way be involved with a particular problem.
IX Web Hosting? Beware all ye who enter here.
So how to do you spot a reputable web host? I would suggest you look for a slightly higher price and far smaller (and realistic) data allowances. Chances are you will be dealing with a company that does take its customers seriously and does not operate a seriously overloaded data centre that\\\'s the consequence of all this ultra cheap hosting madness.

For 5 and a half of those days I had done everything correctly and was told otherwise, when I showed them In precise detail my end was totally on point they became abusive and dismissive... nothing like showing them in detail where they went wrong and having them respond with in an obnoxious, ignorant, and dismissive way.
I checked out a lot host review sites before I chose them and feel totally burned and duped.
I really don't trust any web host review site and after this I'm going to start my own.
I'm going to include my email and my real name in this post, any constructive thoughts, opinions or questions would be greatly appreciated in the creation of this new site!

Their servers are always full and they have a crapload of spam that goes through their servers. So much so that ISP'S like Comcast and ATT cave blocked port 25 smtp ports and constantly blacklist the mail servers. The third party apps in the control panel hardly ever work. Especially that Site Studio crap. Screw this company.. Find another hosting company trust me.. Run for the frigging hills man. Anyways most of the employees there don't give a crap about you. LOST EMAIL COMMING AND GOING { NOT WORTH IT } Reviewer: Anonymous Seattle WA 04-07-2008 Periodical for weeks at a time email service gets blocked. IX fixes this but you never know when email will not arrive for be delivered.
Your email will not be sent and you will not get email that was sent to you. Daily correspondence with scripted excuses seem to be computer generated but in entertaining broken English. COMCAST periodically blocks email servers so you can not email through Comcast. but it seems like Comcast is only one of the issues IX wehhosting has. Who knows how much business we have lost. I host 10 domains with them. Several test emails bounced back one and two days latter. Some did not return. People have been asking did you get my email.
IX DOES NOT BLOCK SPAM ! I think they send it ?
If you need to use email with your domain do not use this host. If you do not use your domain email address, IX is a good deal.
After 2 years and countless months of daily correspondence with tech support I am looking for a new host.
